Works Audio
- An online magazine I write a monthly column for. Check it
out for some invaluable tips and tricks on recording in your
personal studio, product reviews, artist interviews and more.
Hal Leonard Publishing -
Obviously, the publisher of my method books.
Unfortunately, they can't be purchased online.
Support your local music dealer etc.
Music Tech College - I've
been with them as a faculty member since my
"retirement" from the full time
recording business in Nashville four years ago. We
recently moved to a new multi-million dollar facility in St.
Paul. Great school!
Ricky Peterson -Ricky and
I go back a ways. He worked with me on the
Diffusion album at the ripe old age of eighteen -
one hell of a pure talent! He has gone on to make
quite a name for himself, as youšll see at his
site.
Artist
Quarter - Possibly the best jazz club this
side of NYC. Owned and operated by jazz musicians
(most of whom appear on my recordings), and my
very favorite place to play.
Gordy Knudston - This guy is SOME drummer. A
fellow faculty member at Music Tech, and drummer
for the Steve Miller Band. I try to work with him
every chance I get. His site is full of stuff of
interest to you folks who make a living beating
on things.
Tusk
Buffer - A source for legal ivory guitar picks. Ivory
is the absolute best material for a guitar pick, but Elephant
ivory is illegal. So, these ivory picks are made from Mammoth
ivory. That's right folks, the Wooly Mammoth walked the earth
60,000 years ago just so we might have the very best
guitar picks ever made. They are all I use now. A bit pricey,
but worth every nickel in my opinion!
Twin Cities
Jazz Society - Well, er...The Twin
Cities Jazz Society!
Jazz Guitar
Online - Kind of self explanatory, a great
place to check out all things jazz guitar.
Mickey Newbury - Far from
jazz, but a wonderful singer songwriter. Member
of the Country Music Hall of Fame. I worked on a
lot of his stuff in Nashville, and did
"sweetening" on a reissue CD
"Blame it on the Moon" just recently.
Heritage Guitars - I play
and endorse these instruments. As far as Išm
concerned, the best carved top guitars on the
planet, bar none!
Triplicate -
"Friends and family" so-to-speak.
Wonderful players, fellow faculty members at
Music Tech, and they do a lot for the jazz cause
in the area.
Gordon
Johnson - Gordy is one of the best bass
players around. I consider him a member of my
"group" along with Gordy Knudtson and
Adi Yeshaya, on those rare occasions when we
actually work. Great time and tone, and solo's
like Bird.
Sue
Tucker - Sue is a wonderful singer. She's a fellow faculty member at Music Tech, and we do club dates together every now and then. Sue is always my first call when I need to put a vocal group together for a jingle session etc. A real pro.
J. G. Stewart-Fine Guitars - A great
site for Vintage instruments. John has one of my
old guitars in his possession now that I never
should have sold. Check out the 1976 Gibson
Citation. (I didn't get NEAR that for it!) Save
up!
GuitarRecords
- Great source for older vinyl jazz guitar records including
some of my early vinyl stuff.
Tolkien-music-
The purpose of this web site is to provide an exhaustive
discography of musical works inspired by or referential to the
fictional writings of J.R.R. Tolkien (The Lord of the Rings,
The Hobbit, The Silmarillion and their
accompanying mythology).
Mid
Valley Quartet - The Mid Valley Quartet is a Colorado
based gospel group that I have produced several CD's with.
